Materials

  • Medium (4) weight yarn
  • Crochet hook (H/5.0 mm or size needed for your yarn)
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

Abbreviations

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • st = stitch
  • sp = space
  • rep = repeat

Pattern Multiple

Chain a multiple of 3 + 2.

Foundation Row

Starting in the 5th chain from the hook, work 1 dc. Work 1 dc in every remaining chain across. Turn.

Row 2

Ch 3 (counts as first dc). *Skip first turning chain, and then the first 3 dc. Work 1 sc between the 3rd and 4th dc. Ch 2.* Repeat across the row. Finish with a sc between the final group of stitches. Turn.

Row 3

Ch 3. Work 2 dc in the first ch-2 space. Now work 1 dc into the single crochet from the previous row, crossing over the chain space. *In the next ch-2 space: 2 dc, 1 crossover dc into the next sc*

Repeat across. Finish with 1 dc in the top of the turning chain. Turn.

Row 4

Ch 3. Work *1 sc into each crossover opening made by the previous row. Ch 2 between each sc. *Repeat across. Turn.

Repeat

Repeat Rows 3 and 4 until your project reaches the desired length. Fasten off and weave in all ends.
