All Colors of Yarn Click Here[2]

- Crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch marker

- To begin, gather the following materials:
- Black yarn
- White yarn
- Chunky yarn
- Worsted weight yarn
- Stitch markers
- Metal yarn needles

**Starting Chain and Foundation Row**
- To start, create a foundation chain with your black yarn. The size of your blanket is customizable, so chain an appropriate number for your desired width.
- Work a row of single crochet stitches (sc) across the foundation chain after completing the chain.

**Stitch Pattern**
- The stitch pattern for this blanket consists of simple single crochet (sc)
**Color Changes**
- The black and white stripes in your blanket are achieved by switching yarn colors at the end of each row. Be sure to carry the unused yarn along the edge to minimize the number of ends to weave in.

**Repeat Rows for Desired Size**
- Continue repeating Rows 1 and 2, alternating between black and white yarn, until your blanket reaches the desired length.

Black and White Crochet Blanket

This crochet baby blanket can be done in any size hook and yarn. I used medium worsted yarn and G hook. I love how easy it is to make so it’s great for beginners! So simple, but so pretty! Gauge: 1.5 inches per 5 stitches with a G hook.

In the video, this pattern may look like the sides and bottom aren’t straight because I forgot chain 1 after the third row, which I explained in the video. Also, my bottom chain needed to be looser, which I also explained.

Abbreviations:
ch=chain
sc=single crochet
sl st=slip stitch
Row 1: I used purple in the video (or you can use black and white yarn) with a G hook, then white yarn. Any chain count works for this pattern. I did a chain count of 25 for a sample in the video.
Row 2: sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, and each chain across, Turn.
Row 3: ch 1, sc in each stitch across, Turn.
Row 4: Best show in the video, ch 1, *yarn over insert your hook in the first stitch, grab the yarn and pull up your loop, yarn over, insert your hook in the stitch directly below the first stitch, grab the yarn and pull up your loop, yarn over and pull your yarn through all loops on the hook. *Repeat for each stitch to the end. Turn
Row 5: chain 1, sc in each stitch across
Row 6: sl st in with a white yarn, Repeat row 4,
Row  7: Repeat row 3. with your white yarn.
Then sl st with purple yarn. So two rows of purple then two rows of white yarn.
Alternate between rows 3 and 4. Fasten off and weave in your ends when you have your desired length.

**Rows of Color and Minimal Color Changes:**
One of the key features of this crochet blanket pattern is the striking effect achieved through the alternating rows of black and white. With minimal color changes, you’ll create a visually captivating masterpiece. The simplicity of working only with black and white yarn allows for an exact pattern replication, ensuring your finished product reflects your creative vision. Moreover, this approach reduces the hassle of dealing with different yarns and colors, making it a stress-free and enjoyable project. As you work through each row of color, you’ll witness your crochet blanket transform into a cozy and eye-catching addition to your home or a thoughtful gift for a loved one.

**Soft Yarn for Cozy Blankets:**
When choosing the yarn for your crochet blanket, opt for soft and cuddly materials to ensure that your finished blanket is as comfortable as it is beautiful. Soft yarn, such as chenille or bulky yarn, not only adds warmth but also enhances the overall texture of your project. Whether crocheting a baby blanket pattern or a giant throw blanket, the yarn’s softness will make your creation even more inviting. Your finished blanket will be a testament to soft yarn’s soothing and tactile qualities, making it an ideal choice for wrapping up on a chilly evening or adding a touch of elegance to any room in your home.
