**Materials and Tools:** To start your crochet shell shawl, you’ll need worsted-weight yarn, an appropriate crochet hook, and some stitch markers. The choice of yarn and hook size can impact your shawl’s final look and size, so make sure to select what best suits your project.

**Basic Stitches:** This pattern uses basic crochet stitches such as single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), and slip stitch (sl st). These simple stitches are easy to master, making this an ideal project for beginners.

**Pattern Construction:** The shell shawl is worked in a rectangular shape, which differs from the traditional triangular shawls. This construction type creates a versatile, oversized shawl that can be draped differently.

**Stitch Pattern:** The main stitch pattern used in this shawl is the shell stitch, which gives it a lacy and elegant look. The pattern often involves a repeat row, making it easier to keep track of your progress.

I created this pretty crochet shawl with softer yarn and an H hook. You can use a larger hook if you would like it bigger. You can make this around 30 inches wide or until your desired width. I uploaded a video if you need more assistance. If you want to learn how to crochet a shawl, look no further!
