Thread yarn[4], mul­ti-col­ored, and white, or what­ev­er yarn you pre­fer
2.10 mm size hook
Start with mul­ti-col­ored thread yarn
Row 1: Ch 8, sl st in the first ch to form a ring. 
ch 3 (for a dc), (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc), dc in the ring, Turn, *Ch 3, Work (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in the cen­ter of the pre­vi­ous chain 2 space of the shell, dc in top Chain 3. Repeat from * until 17 shell rows have been worked; fas­ten off when you end with dc in the pre­vi­ous row.
Edge: white thread yarn
Row 1. Sl st in the begin­ning ch 6 ring, Work 6 dc in the ring, ch1
Row 2.  along edge, work 6 dc in the chain 3 space,
Rows 3–16. on the edge, *work 3 dc in the next chain 3 space, *Repeat this row, 14 times
Row 17. work 6 dc in the next chain 3 space, ch 1
Row 18. work 6 dc in the chain 2 space, ch 1
Row 19. work 6 dc in the dc space on the oppo­site side,
Rows 20–33.  work on the oppo­site edge side, work 3 dc in next dc space, and Repeat this row, 14 times

Row 34.  work 6 dc in the dc space,  ch 1, sl t in the begin­ning dc of the pre­vi­ous shell. Fas­ten off. Weave in the ends.

Fin­ish­ing and Secur­ing the Ends**
