Crocheting is a rewarding experience, and if you’re new to this creative craft, you’ll be thrilled to learn how to make a cute, tiny crochet tulip keychain! This excellent project is perfect for beginners, and you can easily use it to practice your basic crochet skills. Whether you’re making a gift or just want to add a charming touch to your keyring, this crochet tulip flower keychain is a wonderful choice. Plus, it’s an ideal project if you’re looking for something to make with leftover yarn from previous projects. If you enjoy crochet tutorials on favorite social media sites like TikTok, this project will surely spark your interest and creativity. Let’s get started!

To begin, you’ll need a long yarn tail and some worsted weight yarn. Choose your favorite colors for the tulip petals and stem. You’ll start by making a magic ring, which is a common technique in crochet. This will form the base of the tulip flower. Once you have your magic ring, you’ll proceed by working half double crochet into the ring. The first round typically consists of single crochets, and you’ll need to be mindful of the end of the round. At the end of the round, join the last stitch to the first one with a slip stitch (sl st).

Abbreviations:

ch=chain

sc=single crochet

hdc=half double crochet

dc=double crochet

sl st=slip stitch

F hook, Medium worsted yarn

Rnd 1: In the magic ring, ch 2(counts as a hdc), 11 hdc, sl st ‑12 hdc

Rnd 2: 2 hdc in each stitch around, sl st ‑24 hdc

Rnd 3: *hdc, 2hdc, *Repeat around, sl st ‑36 hdc

Rnd 4: *hdc in the next two stitches, 2hdc, *Repeat around, sl st ‑48 hdc

Rnd 4: sl st with yellow yarn, *sl st ch 1 in the stich and in each stitch around, *Repeat around, sl st

Roll up the circle. Then, tie yarn around the center a few times to secure it. Coil one side upwards to meet the top, forming a rose tulip flower, as demonstrated in the video.

Star: ch 4, sl st, ch 1, work 15 dc, sl st

Rnd 2: ch 5, 2nd chain from the hook sc, hdc in the next chain, dc in the next chain, tr in the last chain, skip 2 stitches, sl st in the next stitch, *Repeat around to make 5 star points, sl st. Fasten off, weave in your ends. Attach the keychain loop to the center of the star. Then hot glue the back of the star, to the bottom of the flower.

Once you’ve completed the top sections of the tulip, use a yarn needle to weave in any loose ends. This is where mental referencing comes into play, as you’ll want to ensure your ends are neatly tucked in for a clean finish. The final touch is attaching the keychain ring or clasp to the back of the crochet flower.

This crochet tulip keychain tutorial is an enjoyable and simple way to create a beautiful piece that you can carry around or gift to others. It combines the basic techniques of crochet, such as making a magic ring, working single crochets, and using double crochets for shaping the tulip petals. The outcome is a tiny crochet tulip that you’ll be proud to show off. You can also experiment with different colors for the petals to make your keychain unique. Whether you’re a seasoned crocheter or just starting out, this project will provide a sense of accomplishment as you create something lovely with your hands. So grab some yarn, follow this tutorial, and get ready to make your very own crochet tulip keychain!
