**Mate­ri­als You’ll Need:**
- Green worsted-weight yarn 
- h hook
- Stitch mark­er
- Yarn nee­dle
- Scis­sors
- Foam cones or wood­en rounds (for flat cro­chet trees)

- Tapes­try nee­dle
- Stitch mark­er

Chain 16
Row 1: Turn, sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, sc in each across. Turn
Row 2: sl st into the first two stitch­es, ch 3, work 4 dc in the same stitch, on the last dc, draw up your loop and take your hook in the first dc, and draw the loop through the first dc. 

*ch 2, skip two stitch­es, work 5 dc in the next stitch for a puff stitch, draw up your loop and take your hook in the first dc, and draw the loop through the first dc. *Repeat three more times, for total of 5 puff stitch­es, one last stitch will be unworked

Row 3: ch 1, Turn, work 2 sc in each ch 2 space across. Turn
**Row 4: Ch 3, work 4 dc in the same stitch for a puff stitch, draw up your loop and take your hook in the first dc, and draw the loop through the first dc. 
*Skip the next stitch, work 5 dc puff stitch in the next stitch, draw up your loop and take your hook in the first dc, and draw the loop through the first dc. *Repeat for two more times for total of 4 puff stitch­es.
**Row 5: ch 1, Turn, work 2 sc in each ch 2 space across. Turn
Row 6: Repeat Row 4, but instead of 4 puffs, you will have three puffs
Row 7: **Repeat Row 5
Row 8: **Repeat Row 4, but you will have 2 puffs stitch­es
Row 9: **Repeat Row 5
Row 10: **Repeat Row 4, but you will have 1 puff stitch. Then fas­ten off and weave in your ends.

Cre­ate a foun­da­tion chain by chain­ing the desired num­ber of stitch­es for the size you want.

 Work in con­tin­u­ous rounds in US terms, turn­ing your work to the right side as need­ed.
 Sin­gle cro­chet in the first chain to form the first stitch.
 Work puff stitch­es, using dou­ble cro­chets, to add vol­ume to your tree.
 Con­tin­ue work­ing in a spi­ral, adding puff stitch­es and col­or changes.
Cre­ate chain spaces to form the tree base and make it sta­ble.
 Fin­ish off by slip stitch­ing to the last stitch of the row.

**Dec­o­rat­ing Your Tree:**
 Add cro­chet orna­ments, tiny stars, or Christ­mas baubles to your tree.
Con­sid­er cro­chet­ing tiny bean stitch­es to mim­ic a pinecone tex­ture for a rus­tic touch.
