How to Make Pretend Snow for Fun Sensory Play

Body:
To begin, gather your materials. You’ll need just two basic ingredients: baking soda and white hair conditioner, both easily found at your local store.

In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 1/2 cups of pure baking soda with 1/2 cup of white hair conditioner.

Stir the mixture thoroughly until it’s smooth and moldable. If you want to add a little extra fun, you can incorporate glitter or a few drops of essential oils for an added sensory experience.

The mixture will have a cool, squishy texture, similar to the feeling of real snow. You can also adjust the consistency by adding more baking soda to make the snow drier or more conditioner to make it wetter.

Now that your pretend snow is ready, it’s time to get creative! Use it in a sensory bin with arctic animal figurines, mold it into shapes, or simply let kids enjoy the texture with their hands. The possibilities for sensory exploration are endless, and the fun doesn’t have to stop after one play session.

Making your own pretend snow is an easy and inexpensive way to enjoy sensory play at home, no matter the season. With just a few materials, you can create a snow-like experience that helps children develop problem-solving skills and encourages imaginative play. Once your snow is ready, store any leftovers in an airtight container for future use. This fun, simple activity will keep kids entertained and engaged for hours!
