Single crochet (sc)

Measure from one shoulder tip to the other shoulder tip across your back with your chains.

For a Small size, chain about 57 chains or until the chain matches your shoulder-to-shoulder measurement. Done in Multiples of 2 plus 5

Row 1: Dc in the 5th chain from hook. *Ch 1, skip 1 chain, dc in next chain.

*Repeat across row. end with a dc in the last chain.

Rows 2-10: Turn. Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1).

Dc in next dc from previous row. Ch 1. Repeat across. end with dc in the chain 3. Turn

Repeat Row 2 until you have 10 rows total.

Create the Neck Opening, Leave 5 stitches for one shoulder and

Leave 5 stitches for other shoulder. Middle stitches become neck opening

Neck Row

Work first 5 stitches normally, which is ch 4, then dc in next dc, ch 1, Repeat for 3 more times.

Chain enough to span the neck opening.

I did 35 chains and Skipped the middle stitches.

Attach chain to opposite shoulder section with a dc.

Finish remaining shoulder stitches, which is dc, ch 1, in the next 5 dc, end with dc in the chain 3.

Now the neck hole is formed.

Crochet the Back Panel

Continue working the same mesh stitch pattern across the row, including across the chain opening, so then turn, ch 4, dc in the next dc, ch 1, in the next 4 dc, and when you get to the chains, dc, ch1, skip a chain, continue on across the neck chains, then end with dc, ch 1, in the remaining dc, end with dc in the chain 3.

Repeat until the back has the same number of rows as the front: 10 rows total

Now you have: Front panel, Neck opening, Back panel

All in one piece with NO sewing

Crochet the Sleeves, Fold the piece so the arm openings form circles.

Join yarn under the arm opening with a sl st in beginning stitch.

Sleeves Ch 4. Dc around the armhole openings. Ch 1 between each dc.

Continue around evenly. Repeat the mesh pattern in rounds until sleeves reach desired length.

I did 40 rounds for each sleeve.

Sleeve Edging, ch 1, sc in the dc and chain spaces, sl st in beginning stitch. Repeat on the other side for the other sleeve. Fasten off and Weave in your ends.

Now you have a beautiful handmade crochet bolero shrug that is both stylish and comfortable to wear.
