Abbreviations:
ch=chain
sl st=slip stitch
sc=single crochet

dc=double crochet

Rnd 1: In the Magic Circle, ch 5 (counts as a dc and ch 2), *dc, ch 2, *Repeat 4 more times, Total of 6(dc and ch 2), sl st on the ch 3
Rnd 2: ch 3(counts as dc), 2 dc, in the ch 2 space, ch 2, *work 3 in the next ch 2 space, ch 2, *Repeat around, Total of 6(3dc and ch 2), sl st on the ch 3. 
Rnd 3: sl st in the ch 2 space, *ch 3, sl st, ch 5, sl st, ch 7, sl st, ch 5, sl st, ch 3, sl st all in the same ch 2 space, sl st in the next 3 dc, sl st into the ch 2 space, *Repeat around, sl st on dc. 
Hanger:
If you want to add a hanger, go to one of the points of the snowflake, and with your yarn sl st and chain 10 or so and sl st again and fasten off.
