You can make it big­ger with more sc or a big­ger hook or small­er with a small­er hook or few­er stitch­es, but I tried to cre­ate a cer­tain amount of sc so the shell top fits in the stitch­es prop­er­ly.

I used Red Heart Love Dark Pink Yarn
I hook, Yarn nee­dle
Instruc­tions:
Rnd 1: Chain 26, sc in the 3rd chain from the hook and each sc across Turn ‑24 sc

Rnds 2–30: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn ‑24 sc, Total of 30 rounds

Rnd 31: Ch 3(counts as a dc), dc in the next sc, skip two sc, work 2 dc, *skip two sc, work 2dc, ch 1, 2dc in the next sc, *4 times, skip two sc, work 2 dc, skip two sc, dc in the last two sc, Turn

Rnd 32–35: **Ch 3(counts as a dc), dc in the next dc, work 2 dc in the next two pre­vi­ous dc, *work 2dc, ch 1, 2dc in the next ch 1 space, *4 times, work 2dc in between the next pre­vi­ous two dc, dc in the last two dc, Turn **Repeat this  4 times.

Then take the sc sec­tion and fold it up to the shell part, and sew both sc sides togeth­er with an sl st on both sides. After I sewed the sides, I turned it inside out, and it looks bet­ter. Then the shell part will over­lap the sc sec­tion to cre­ate the top of the clutch purse.

E hook
Rnd 1: Ch 2, work 5 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, sl st
Rnd 2: work 2 sc around, sl st ‑10 sc
Rnd 3: work sc around each sc, sl st ‑10 sc
Rnd 4: 2 sc togeth­er decrease 5 times ‑5 sc
Rnd 5: sc in each sc around, sl st. ‑5 sc, Fas­ten off.
Attach the but­ton with your yarn nee­dle and yarn to the bot­tom cen­ter of the clutch on the sc sec­tion.
