 **Selecting Yarn and Hook:**
- To begin your first crochet blanket, choose a yarn type, such as worsted weight or bulky yarn, and a corresponding crochet hook size.
- For a chunky, cozy blanket, opt for bulky weight yarn.

**Starting Chain and First Row:**
- Create a starting chain of the desired length to determine the width of your blanket.
- Work your first row, making basic crochet stitches like single crochet, double crochet, or even the unique linen stitch for intricate designs.

**Color Changes:**
- Experiment with different yarn colors to create a visually appealing and unique granny square effect in your C2C blanket.

I’m going to show you how to make a corner-to-corner crochet pattern. To get started, you begin with one square and then gradually increase it. Later, I’ll demonstrate how to decrease the square. This versatile pattern can be used to create blankets and shawls. I’m using an H hook and impeccable pink yarn for this tutorial.

Creating the First Square:
Start by chaining six: one, two, three, four, five, and six. In the fourth chain from the hook, work a double crochet (dc). Then, perform a double crochet in the next two chains. You now have a row of double crochets.

Forming the First Pair of Squares:
Chain six again and work a double crochet in the fourth chain from the hook, followed by two more double crochets in the next two chains. You’ve created a second square. Join the two squares with a slip stitch. Flip the piece and connect it with another slip stitch in the space. This creates a pair of squares joined at the corner.

Repeating and Increasing:
Chain three and work three double crochets in the same space. This forms a corner. After counting three double crochets, continue the pattern by slip stitching into the space. Chain three, work three double crochets, and repeat. You can change colors if desired.

Adding More Colors:
To change colors, slip-stitch your new color, leaving the ends to weave in later. Chain six again, turn, and work double crochets as before to create another square. Continue to increase as needed for your desired width.

When you’re ready to decrease, slip stitch into three spaces, skipping three double crochets. Instead of chaining six, chain three and work three double crochets in the same space. Repeat the pattern while decreasing by cutting three double crochets each time.

As you continue, you’ll lose one block (square) on each row. To maintain the decrease, turn your work and slip stitch across, then follow the same pattern of chain three, three double crochets, slip stitch, and repeat. Keep decreasing until you have only one corner, turning your project into a square.

Corner-to-corner crochet is a versatile technique that allows you to create various projects, from increasing to decreasing the width. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Don’t forget to subscribe for more crochet tutorials. Thank you for watching!
