The cowl sections, which resemble an infinity scarf, are worked separately before being joined to create the hooded cowl. Crocheting the bear ears is a delightful touch that adds character to the finished product. Minimal sewing is required, making the project enjoyable and straightforward.

In addition to the crochet aspect, it’s worth noting that your online experience might involve interest-based ads, privacy preferences, and user data. Websites like Etsy, a global marketplace for handmade pieces and made-to-order items, offer powerful tools for sellers and provide personalized advertising. It’s essential to know their privacy policy, similar technologies policy, and advertising partners’ use in serving ad results.

Please provide a link to my blog if you want to share my content. However, I kindly request that you refrain from copying and posting my patterns on your website. You are welcome to sell any items you create using my patterns, but please refrain from selling the patterns themselves, as they are offered for free. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Supplies:

L hook (8.00 mm) and J (6.00mm) hook

Glitter Cream yarn or some thick yarn (you can double thread your yarn optional)
Yarn needle
Button (optional)

I made this Cowl for 3 sizes since I could measure them on my children. If you want a different size, I can’t guarantee the correct measurements without that person to measure it. Sorry.

Abbreviations:
ch=chain
sl st=slip stitch
sc=single crochet

dc=double crochet

The sizes will be in brackets for each size. I made them for these sizes. My toddler is 18 months, and my daughter is 6 1/2 years old.

(Newborn, Toddler Size, Child size) My Toddler’s head measures around 18 inches, and my 6‑year-old measures around 21 inches.

Start: L hook
Row 1: Chain (15 for Newborn, 25 for Toddler, 30 for Child), sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, and each stitch across, DO NOT TURN. Now work down the opposite side of the chain and sc in each stitch. — (27 sc,  47 sc, 57 sc )
Row 2: *Ch 1, and Turn, sc in each stitch around, do not slip stitch to join; repeat *Until it measures (13 inches for a toddler or 26 rows, 20 inches for a toddler or 40 row, or 23 inches or 46 rows for a child.) (27 sc,  47 sc, 57 sc )
Now Don’t turn and sc around the edge of the front of the hat once.
Row 3. Slip stitch to join the 2 side together (this is by the chin of the child, the cowl neck part) *chain 1 and sc around, sl st to join, Repeat * this for 7 rows. Fasten off and Weave in the ends.
At the beginning middle of Row 3, I sewed a button. (optional)
Ears, Make 2, J hook
Rnd 1: Ch 2, work 5 sc in the 2nd chain from the hook. slip stitch ‑5 sc
Rnd 2: Work 2 dc in each sc around, sl st. ‑10 dc
Rnd 3: Work  2 dc in each dc around,  sl st. ‑20 dc
Rnd 4: Work sc in each dc around. sl st ‑20 sc
Fasten off. Now place the Ears on top of the Hooded hat about 2.5 inches apart.
