**Getting Started**
- Before you begin, ensure you have the necessary materials: yarn, a crochet hook (appropriate hook size), and a yarn needle.
- To start your project, you can use a magic ring or a slip knot, depending on your preference. This will be the center of your granny square.

**Basic Stitches**
- Begin with the first chain (1st ch) and work your basic crochet stitches like single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), and treble crochet (tr) into the magic ring.
- Pay attention to the back loops of your stitches for a unique texture in your square.

 **Color Changes**
- To create a colorful granny square, change yarn colors as needed.
- When changing colors, simply insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over with the new color, and pull through.

**Special Stitches**
- Learn to make cluster and puff stitches to add texture and dimension to your square.
- Cluster stitches involve creating multiple double crochets (dc) in the same space.
- Puff stitches are made by working several double crochets into the same stitch, then securing them.
