rnd 3. ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), *2dc in next dc, dc in the next dc, Repeat from *around, join with sl st. ‑33 dc
rnd 4. ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), dc in the next dc, 2dc in the next dc, *dc in the next two dc, 2dc in the next dc, Repeat from *around, join with sl st. ‑44 dc

G hook, red yarn
1st ear flap, you can slip stitch onto the side of the hat with your red yarn, begin the dc stitch­es, (like to have the seam in the back of the hat, so I do the ear flap on the side of the hat)
2nd flap, fold hat in half and sl st in dc direct­ly across from the last dc from the oth­er ear flap. fol­low direc­tions below for both ear flaps.
Row 1. ch 2, dc in the next 11 dc stitch­es, turn. ‑11 sts
Row 2. ch 2, dc2tog. dc in the next 6 stitch­es. dc2tog. dc in the last st. turn. ‑9
Row 3. ch 2, dc2tog, dc in the next 4 stitch­es. dc2tog. dc in the last st., turn. ‑7
Row 4. ch 2, dc2tog, dc in the next 2 stitch­es. dc2tog. dc in the last st. turn. ‑5
Row 5. ch 2, dc2tog twice, dc in last st. cut yarn and pull through ‑3
The braid from the cen­ter of the ear flap at the bot­tom, I hook, use Red and Blue yarn, with a sl st in the cen­ter of the bot­tom of the ear flap and chain 30, and sl st it off and cut yarn.
Face: Grey yarn, H hook

Eyes: Two options for the eyes, whichev­er you like best, f hook

Make 2
Start with black yarn
ch 2, and work 4 sc in the 2nd chain from the hook. (4sc) sl st.
Switch to white yarn,
Rnd 1. work 2sc in each stitch around, sl st. (8sc) fas­ten off
Place the eyes above the nose and mouth.Eye­brows: With black yarn make two half cir­cles above the eyes.2nd Option for the eye:Pupil:black yarn, D hook, ch 2, 3sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, sl st.
White part of the eye, G hook, ch 2,work 10sc in the 2nd chain from the hook. sl st. fas­ten off. Sew the pupil on the cen­ter of the white part of the eye, sew on the face.
Eye­brows: with black yarn make two half cir­cles above the eyes.

Mouth:
F hook
chain 7, sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, sl st. fas­ten off, (6 sts)
Place the mouth on the bot­tom cen­ter.
With Black yarn, make half cir­cle dash lines in the cor­ner of the mouth on both sides.

Nose:
With black yarn, sew a half cir­cle above the mouth.

Smoke Stack:
Black yarn
H hook
ch 2, work 5 sin­gle in the 2nd chain from the hook, sl st.  (5sc)
Row 1. Work 2sc in each stitch around, sl st. (10sc)
Rows 2–3. *sc in every stitch around twice, sl st. *Twice (10sc)
Row 4. *2sctog decrease, sc in the next stitch, *repeat (7sc)
Rows 5– *sc in each stitch around, sl st
*repeat until the entire smoke stack reach­es 3 inch­es, (7sc)
Stuff it with black yarn and sew it above the face.

Black cir­cles for the bot­tom of the hat, make 2, place them on the red yarn at the bot­tom of the hat:
