You can make this head­band for any child, mea­sure their head, and then sub­tract about 2 inch­es off the length around. My daugh­ter’s head is 20.5 inch­es around, so I made the head­band length 17.5 to 18  inch­es long.

Sup­plies:
Red heart pink, green, yel­low, and white yarn
H and G hook

Abbre­vi­a­tions:
sc: sin­gle Cro­chet
sts: stitch­es
ch: chain

2sctog=2 sin­gle cro­chet togeth­er decrease

Instruc­tions:
H hook, start with pink yarn (chain more or less for dif­fer­ent sizes, use a mea­sur­ing tape)
Row 1. chain 71, sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, and each stitch across. turn ‑70 sts.
Rows 2–8.  sc in each stitch across, turn, ‑70sc *Repeat this row 7 more times
Rows 9–13. sl st with green yarn, sc in each stitch across, turn, *Repeat this 5 times, ‑70sc
Row 14. sl st with white yarn, sc in each in each stitch across, fas­ten off.

At the bot­tom of the head­band, sl st with white yarn, for the bot­tom edge, sc in each stitch across, and fas­ten off. Sew the ends of the head­band togeth­er. weave in the ends.

Eyes: Make 2,
black, green, and white yarn, g hook
with black yarn, chain 2, work 10sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, ‑10sc
sl st with green yarn, work 2sc in each stitch around, ‑20sc

sl st with white yarn, sc in each stitch around, ‑20sc, sew the eyes next to each oth­er on top of the green part of the head­band.

Beak: Yel­low yarn, G hook
rnd 1. chain 5
rnd 2. sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and each stitch across, turn ‑4sc
rnd 3. 2sctog decrease, sc in stitch across, turn, ‑3sc
rnd 4. 2sctog decrease, sc in each stitch across, turn ‑2sc

rnd 5. 2sctog decrease, ‑1sc, fas­ten off. Sew the nose in the cen­ter below the eyes.

Ears: Make 2; take three strands of yarn (start with about 8 inch­es so you can pull it through), green, white, and pink. Take all three strands of yarn togeth­er, make a slip stitch above the eyes, and pull it through. Cut the yarn, leav­ing about 2 inch­es long for the ears.
