Begin like a reg­u­lar dou­ble cro­chet, paus­ing before com­plet­ing the final pull-through. Instead, repeat this unfin­ished stitch twice more into the same stitch. After the third half-formed dou­ble cro­chet, yarn over and pull through all four loops on your hook to com­plete the clus­ter.

1. Yarn over (yo), insert your hook into the des­ig­nat­ed stitch, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops, leav­ing two loops on your hook and one half-worked dou­ble cro­chet.
2. Yo, insert hook into the same stitch, repeat Step 1. You’ll now have three loops on your hook and two half-worked dou­ble cro­chets.
3. Repeat Step 2. Now, you’ll have four loops and three half-worked dou­ble cro­chets on your hook.
4. Yo, pull through all four loops on the hook.
5. Close the clus­ter with a chain stitch. When work­ing this stitch in rows, choose either the chain or the top of the clus­ter for sub­se­quent row stitch­es, but not both, to avoid increas­ing the stitch count.

Rnd 4: sl st into the next chain 3 from round 3, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc, *ch 1, 3 dc togeth­er in the next space, ch 1, 3 dc togeth­er in the next space, in the cor­ner, 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc, ch 1, *Repeat around, sl st into ch 3

Rnds 5–15: **sl st into the next chain 3 space, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc, *ch 1, 3 dc togeth­er in the next space, ch 1, skip the next chain 1 space, 3 dc togeth­er in the next space, ch 1, in the cor­ner, 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc, ch 1, *Repeat around, sl st into ch 3 **Repeat for 10 rounds

Last round, sc in each dc, sc in each chain 1 space, 2 sc in each chain 3 space, Repeat around for the sc around.

Then sl st into the chain 3 space, chain 200 for the strap, then sl st onto the oppo­site side, then sc back up the chain 200, sl st on the oth­er side. Fas­ten off. Weave in your ends.
