Instructions
Green Yarn, F hook
Rnd 1: In the Magic Ring, Ch 3 (counts as first dc), then make 2 dc into the ring.
Ch 2 (forms the corner).
Repeat 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, to form four corners.
join with sl st to top of starting ch‑3.
Rnd 2: Sl st to the first corner.
In each corner: ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc. then in the next corner, *3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, *Repeat around, sl st into chain 2
Rnd 3: Sl st to the first corner.
In each corner: ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc.
On sides (between corners): *ch 1, 3 dc in each middle space, ch 1, then in the next corner, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, *Repeat around
Repeat for all sides and corners. Join with sl st into the chain 2.
Rnd 4: Repeat round 3, increasing the middle spaces. You can make more rounds, depending on desired tree size.
Shape the Tree
Fold the square with the wrong side facing out.
Bring two opposite corners to the center, forming a cone shape.
Fold the bottom corner up.
Use a yarn needle and long tail to sew the folded corners together.
Take the bottom points and sew them to make the base flat.
Make the Trunk
With brown yarn, insert your hook at the center bottom of the tree.
Ch 2, then work 4 dc into the same space, Ch 2, join with sl st to form a small rectangle trunk.
Weave in ends with a yarn needle.
Decorate (Optional)
Glue small beads, pearls, or tiny ornaments onto the tree as you like.
