Crochet Christmas Trees

Instructions

Green Yarn, F hook

Rnd 1: In the Mag­ic Ring, Ch 3 (counts as first dc), then make 2 dc into the ring.
Ch 2 (forms the cor­ner).
Repeat 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, to form four cor­ners.
join with sl st to top of start­ing ch‑3.

Rnd 2: Sl st to the first cor­ner.
In each cor­ner: ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc. then in the next cor­ner, *3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, *Repeat around, sl st into chain 2

Rnd 3: Sl st to the first cor­ner.
In each cor­ner: ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc. 

On sides (between cor­ners): *ch 1, 3 dc in each mid­dle space, ch 1, then in the next cor­ner, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, *Repeat around
Repeat for all sides and cor­ners. Join with sl st into the chain 2.

Rnd 4: Repeat round 3, increas­ing the mid­dle spaces. You can make more rounds, depend­ing on desired tree size.

Shape the Tree

Fold the square with the wrong side fac­ing out.

Bring two oppo­site cor­ners to the cen­ter, form­ing a cone shape.

Fold the bot­tom cor­ner up.

Use a yarn nee­dle and long tail to sew the fold­ed cor­ners togeth­er.

Take the bot­tom points and sew them to make the base flat.

Make the Trunk

With brown yarn, insert your hook at the cen­ter bot­tom of the tree.

Ch 2, then work 4 dc into the same space, Ch 2, join with sl st to form a small rec­tan­gle trunk.

Weave in ends with a yarn nee­dle.

Decorate (Optional)

Glue small beads, pearls, or tiny orna­ments onto the tree as you like.
