G hook, Black and yel­low yarn for the stripes. Start with black yarn,
Two ways to start this Hat with a Mag­ic Cir­cle or Do Rnd 1:
rnd 1: Start with Black yarn; work 11 dc in a Mag­ic Cir­cle, sl st on top of the chain 3. ‑11 dc

Cro­chet a Mag­ic Cir­cle with Dou­ble Cro­chet Video:

rnd 2. Now Sl St with Yel­low Yarn, ch 3, dc in same st. as join­ing, 2dc in each st. Around. Join with sl st on top of chain 2. ‑22 sts.
rnd 3. Sl St with Black yarn, ch 3 counts as the first stitch, *2dc in next st., dc in the next stitch, repeat from *around, join with sl st. ‑33 sts.
rnd 4. Sl St with Yel­low Yarn, ch 3, dc in the next st., 2dc in the next st., *dc in the next two stitch­es, 2dc in the next stitch, repeat from *around, join with sl st. ‑44 sts.
rnd 5. Sl St with Black yarn, ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), dc in the 2 next two sts., 2dc in the next stitch; *dc in the next 3 stitch­es, 2dc in the next stitch. Repeat from * around, join ‑55 sts
rnds 6–14. Sl St with Yel­low Yarn, *ch 3, dc in each st
 around, join sl st., *repeat. Con­tin­ue until the hat reach­es 7 inch­es, sl st. Fas­ten off. *Repeat back and forth with Yel­low and Black yarn for the stripes. (if this is a small­er size, the length will be short­er; look above for sizes and what hook to use.)
Anten­nas: Make 2, Black yarn
Cre­ate a 5 sc in the Mag­ic Cir­cle, sl st
Rnds 2–9: sc in each sc around, work in con­tin­u­al rounds. Fas­ten off after 9 rounds.
